Mitchell Robinson Breaks Finger Slamming Truck After Brother’s Car Accident

Mitchell Robinson’s hand injury during the NBA playoffs caught everyone off guard—at first. The Knicks kept quiet about what happened, only saying it hadn’t occurred at practice.

“I broke down in tears, feeling like a failure for not being able to protect my siblings. Being 910 miles away, I felt helpless. In a moment of frustration, I banged my hand on my truck.”

He played the Finals with that broken finger, staying on the court and helping carry the Knicks through their title run despite the pain. The injury never kept him sidelined.

Robinson posted the explanation on Facebook Sunday morning. Not long after, he signed with the Boston Celtics as a free agent.
