Four NBA teams reshuffled their draft picks on Wednesday, finalizing a trade that had surfaced in reports during Tuesday night’s first round. The Lakers, Knicks, Mavericks and Suns all repositioned to land their targets.
Los Angeles climbed one spot from 25th to land Baylor guard Cameron Carr at No. 24. The Knicks sent their 25th pick to Dallas, where the Mavericks used it to select Spanish guard Sergio De Larrea.
New York got multiple second-round picks in return. Rather than hold a single first-round selection, the Knicks opted for depth and future flexibility through a series of trades.
Phoenix grabbed the 30th pick and selected Arizona’s Koa Peat. The trade showed how draft night deals can satisfy different priorities across the league—L.A. chasing immediate talent, New York building for the future with secondary-round assets.
