Joshua vs Fury: Can Anthony Joshua Win the Heavyweight Crown?

Обновлено: 30.06.26 Posted by: Vladimir

Can Anthony Joshua beat Tyson Fury? Chris Eubank Jr thinks so—and he’s got reasons to back it up.

Joshua has been in sharp form lately. He put Jake Paul away in the sixth round last December, a knockout that signalled his return to the elite level. Fury’s comeback, by contrast, came against Arslanbek Makmudov in April, and Eubank Jr wasn’t sold on what he saw. “I wasn’t impressed by Fury’s last fight [with Arslanbek Makhmudov],” Eubank Jr said.

The path to their expected Autumn meeting is still being written. Joshua faces Kristian Prenga next month—a warm-up bout before the main event. Both carry losses to Oleksandr Usyk, who beat them in initial fights and then again in rematches.

But Eubank Jr sees an advantage for Joshua. “I think AJ has been a lot more disciplined than Fury has during his career, and I think he is probably in a better headspace right now. Probably [better] physically too,” he said. Yes, Joshua suffered knockout losses to Andy Ruiz Jr and Daniel Dubois—they’re in the record. Yet Eubank Jr views the fighters standing before us now as different animals altogether. “I think if that fight happens, then AJ probably has the edge,” he concluded.
