Fury vs Joshua: Hearn says AJ needs to agree new terms for US fight

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury—both former world champions twice over—have signed on to fight each other in the UK. But whispers about moving it to Las Vegas keep circulating, and that’s created real tension between the camps and their promoters.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has been blunt: if Joshua doesn’t sign off on fresh terms to relocate the fight, it stays in the UK in 2026. That’s the weight of the original contract talking—and Hearn isn’t keen to give up home soil.

Turki Alalshikh, who put together the Joshua-Fury deal, looks to be sniffing around US options. Hearn hasn’t received any formal request from Alalshikh to move the bout out of the UK, though the Saudi promoter’s Vegas interest is pretty transparent from how he’s been talking to other people in boxing.

Dana White, who runs Zuffa Boxing, claimed he’d promote the Joshua-Fury fight. But here’s the catch: the Joshua-Fury contract explicitly bans Dana White and Zuffa Boxing from being the promoters—a legal wall that’s made any US-based setup a non-starter.

Fury, 37 years old, has an interim bout lined up for 1 August. Joshua, 36, fights Kristian Prenga on 25 July. Both are staying sharp, but the heavyweight title fight stays locked into its UK framework unless Joshua’s team agrees to new terms.
