Kabayel Ready to Defend WBC Crown Against Fury, Joshua, or All Comers

“My phone is here, please call me.” That’s Agit Kabayel’s message to the heavyweight division now that he holds the WBC title. The German fighter became WBC heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished his belts. At 33, Kabayel is signalling his readiness to face any top contender willing to step into the ring.

He’s told Sky Sports he wants to fight in the fall—specifically targeting September or October. His last bout came in January when he stopped Damian Knyba. Now he’s ready to make his first title defense count.

Kabayel has made his dream matchups clear. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua sit at the top of his wish list. “Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, when you think you have a chance to be a three-time world champion, let’s do it. Kabayel will wait for you,” he said. But Fury and Joshua are reportedly lining up a fall showdown against each other, which could push Kabayel toward other options.

That’s where his Plan B comes in. Moses Itauma, Daniel Dubois, and Fabio Wardley are all viable alternatives. Itauma remains unbeaten, and Dubois holds the WBO belt, either of which would be a serious test for the new WBC champion.

Kabayel’s position is crystal clear: “For me it’s no problem, I’ll fight with everyone.” With the heavyweight division in flux and multiple contenders chasing title shots, the German’s willingness to face anyone could make him a key player in what comes next.
