Gaurav Dixit, Founding Director of ISSO, put it simply as India’s team prepared for competition in the Balkans: “The opportunity to compete at the ISF Basketball Championship gives our student-athletes exposure they can’t get anywhere in India.”
The ISF Basketball Championship 2026 ran from June 13-23 in Zlatibor, Serbia. India sent 21 players—10 girls and 11 boys—all selected from leading international schools in Gurgaon, Delhi, Mumbai, and Dehradun.
Making the squad meant passing through ISSO’s tough national talent identification process. The championship itself brought together 28 countries, with India’s team competing alongside athletes from across the globe.
