Australia to face Poland in Davis Cup qualifier at Brisbane in September 2026

Can Australia claw its way back from World Group I demotion and make a real run at the Davis Cup Finals? The answer arrives in September 2026, when the Australians take on Poland at Brisbane’s Pat Rafter Arena on September 19 and 20. Win, and they’re through to the 2027 Davis Cup qualifiers—one step closer to the Finals in Bologna, scheduled for November.

This tie matters. Australia tumbled to World Group I after losing to Ecuador in Quito last February, a match where the altitude threw everything off. Star players Alex de Minaur and Alexei Popyrin sat out due to travel commitments. Now, with captain Lleyton Hewitt—a two-time Grand Slam winner—calling the shots, the team has a real chance to rebuild.

Poland will be no pushover. Hubert Hurkacz, a former world No. 6, leads their charge, backed by Jan Zieliński on the doubles court. Captain Mariusz Fyrstenberg rounds out the European contingent.

Tickets start at $49. Brisbane’s Pat Rafter Arena will be the stage, giving Australian fans a chance to back their side’s World Group I campaign.
