How does a Super Bowl champion end up disrespected? According to ESPN analyst Kevin Clark, the Seahawks know the answer.
On NFL Live, Clark named Seattle among the championship teams that never got the respect they deserved. “The Seahawks are on the shortlist for most disrespected Super Bowl champions of my lifetime,” he said. He grouped them with the Eli Manning Giants—winners twice over—and the Von Miller-led Peyton Manning Broncos.
The 2025 Seahawks won it all with a 10-7 record. That path came after three playoff misses in four years. Under Mike Macdonald, with Sam Darnold running the offense, they beat the odds to claim the title.
Their championship run makes a sharp contrast with the 2013 Super Bowl win, when the Seahawks made aggressive moves in the offseason—trading for wide receiver Percy Harvin among them—to build a contender. That team, too, has been largely forgotten in conversations about the NFL’s great dynasties, Clark’s remarks suggest.
